How It All Begin – Dr. Ronald Howard Opened the Practice in 1973
Dr. Howard wanted a practice where everyone could receive quality dental care. After serving as a dentist in the United States Air Force from 1968-1970, he decided to open his own practice. He especially worked well with those who were leery of the dentist. The phrase “Howard’s Cowards” was born, and we still use “We Cater to Cowards” as our motto today.
In 2014 Dr. Howard retired after 44 years, and he is grateful for the patients and families he cared for over the last four decades.
Dr. Kris Nicholas Joined in 1994
Dr. Kris Nicholas has been practicing Dentistry since 1994. He is a 1985 Graduate of St. Francis DeSales High School. After completing his Undergraduate studies at the University of Toledo, he attended the Ohio State University where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree. Upon graduation in 1994 Dr. Nicholas returned to his hometown of Toledo to join Dr. Howard’s practice.
In 2002, Dr. Nicholas married his wife Cherryl, a Dental Hygienist. They have four children: Lucilee, Eddie, Evangeline and Gus. Dr. Nicholas enjoys the outdoors, music, playing the saxophone and the mandolin, and creating stained glass. The Nicholas family resides in Temperance, Michigan. Dr. Nicholas believes that Dentistry is a calling that allows him to meet and serve people of diverse backgrounds. He enjoys every aspect of his work from the three year old at their first dental visit to life changing improvements in a person’s smile. He combines humor and a kind heart while treating his patients. For Dr. Nicholas, Dentistry is not just a profession, but also a passion.
Dr. James Baburek Joined in 2003
Dr. James Baburek has been practicing Dentistry in Toledo since 2003. Dr. Baburek is a Graduate of Riverside High School in Painesville Township, Ohio. After High School, Dr. Baburek attended the Ohio State University, where he completed both his Undergraduate and Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree, graduating Magna Cum Laude and ranking 4th in his Dental class. He was inducted in the National Honorary Fraternity, Omicron Kappa Upsilon and is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Baburek joined Dr. Howard and Dr. Nicholas’ practice in 2003.
In 2001, Dr. Baburek married his wife, Amy, a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and native of Toledo. They have two children Alyssa and Alex. Dr. Baburek is an avid sports fan and enjoys working with electronics of all kinds. The Baburek family lives in Monclova, Ohio. Dr. Baburek believes that Dentistry is a profession that can provide life-altering changes. He enjoys all aspects of the field, and finds a deep satisfaction from watching his patients leave his chair with a brand new smile. For Dr. Baburek providing the highest quality of Dentistry to all of his patients is his strongest objective.
Dr. Tyler Rogaliner Joined in 2024
Tyler Rogaliner, DMD, was born in Toledo and raised just across the border in Lambertville, Michigan. He is a 2015 graduate of Bedford High School. After completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Toledo, where he earned a degree in Biology, Tyler went on to attend Case Western Reserve University, where he received his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry degree (DMD). While the title may differ, a DMD degree is equivalent to a DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) and allows him to perform the same procedures as Dr. Nicholas and Dr. Baburek.
In 2023, Tyler married his wife, Kristin, a fellow graduate of Bedford High School. Kristin will be starting her career as a math teacher at Jefferson High School this fall. Together, they have two dogs: a 9-year-old chihuahua named Ares and a 1-year-old dachshund named Mars. Tyler enjoys exploring the outdoors, playing golf, and watching Cleveland and Ohio State sports of all kinds. He looks forward to meeting new patients and their families soon and extends his best regards.

Patient Safety
The safety of our patients is always our top priority. We use a state-of-the-art sterilization system to clean all of our tools. We also have an alternative source of water available to our office in the event of any type of emergency or water concern. This optional, closed-water system in our office is independent of local city water.
